Sarah Barton (Lofty) married again on 29th March 1866 to Thomas Herring at Bathurst.
Thomas was Sarah’s neighbour, the Barton farm fronting the Fish River and the Herring farm fronting the road and railway, and between the Barton and Peime farm which was on the eastern side of the road.
This union produced a further three children.
1. Hannah Herring born 13th February 1867 at Bathurst. Hannah died 21st May 1875 aged 8 years and is buried in O’Connell Plains Cemetery.
2. Thomas Herring born 1872 at Fish River, Thomas married 24th April 1894 at Kinghorn Falls, O’Connell Plains to Alice Maud Unwin and died 13th March 1947.
3. Henry James Herring born 20th January 1872 at Fish River and married Maria Jaques at Oberon NSW 9th May 1901.
Thomas Herring died 18th January 1887 at Locksley and is buried at O’Connells Plains Cemetery.
Sarah Lofty/Barton/Herring died 13th May 1893 at Locksley, NSW and was laid to rest in the Church of England Cemetery at Locksley.
